Montpelier Motor Speedway To Utilize Westhold Transponder Scoring System in 2014.

The Montpelier Motor Speedway beginning with the 2014 season will utilize a Westhold Race Management System. The system, utilizing a scoring loop underneath the track at the finish line, will produce 100% race accurate scoring along with providing by lap race positioning, lap times, and lap speed. On the initial onset of the 2014 season a Westhold transponder will be required in the Midget and UMP Modifieds divisions along with NRA Sprint Invaders and BOSS Sprint programs. Over the course of the season, transponder scoring will also be phased into the Super Street and Thunder Car divisions. The FWD Compact and Mod Lites divisions will not be required to use them at this time.  Transponder purchase, rent to own, and nightly rental information can be found at this link:

Montpelier Motor Speedway Celebrates 110th Anniversary of Racing in Montpelier, Indiana as One of the Oldest Racing Facilities in America.

During the 2013 season, the Montpelier Motor Speedway is celebrating its 110th season of racing in Montpelier; however, the history one of America's oldest racing facility is filled with triumph, despair, success,
and great loss that generations of families and race fans have experienced together

Find out how the track transitioned for 1/2 to a 1/4 mile, from horse racing to auto racing, why federal agents arrested a track owner,  how 3 separate tornados and a storm nearly ended racing at the speedway, the world record the speedway held for four years, and the legendary names of those that brought auto racing to a small East Central Indiana town.  The tradition of the historic speedway is legendary, heartbreaking, but most importantly ongoing every Saturday night!
